I want to keep using quick actions when selecting text; I only want to remove the WhatsApp prompt from the available quick actions.

I'm using Acrobat Pro in "Classic" View mode.
Version 2026.001.21745 | Unified App | Licenses: Acrobat Pro
MacOS 15.7.7

I've disabled "Show 'Send to WhatsApp' shortcut" in Settings > General :

Acrobat Pro Settings > General. “Show Send to Whatsapp” option is disabled.

I tried editing “~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist” using the free Prefs Editor app: https://apps.tempel.org/PrefsEditor/

All keys containing “WhatsApp” in com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist

There's no value or key containing "EnableThirdPartyWhatsappShare", however there are keys that contain "WhatsApp". I set both of the following values to "NO"
WhatsAppShareShortcutEnabled > Item 1: NO
ShareToWhatsAppCardEnabled > Item 1: NO
This didn't have any effect.

Please provide the exact key and value to change.

I'd appreciate any help to remove this distraction.

I renamed the attached file, com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro (3).plist, to com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist then moved it to /Library/Preferences/.

I now have two com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist files:

The issue has been addressed with the latest build of Acrobat: 26.002.21931, Out of cycle update, Sep 17, 2026. Check for any pending updates by navigating to Menu > Help> Check for Updates. Install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and try again.

I ran the update and restarted but it’s still there and I couldn’t find anything new in the settings about it.

Is it not possible for a windows user to just turn off whatsapp integration? I work for a state government, we absolutely cannot be accessing things like whatsapp on company computers not to mention the potential security issues around whatever I’ve randomly highlighted being sent to a messaging app??

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out. Our development team is working on this issue and shared some steps as follows:

Steps:

Make sure no Acrobat processes are running in the activity monitor, if yes, please close all the Acrobat reated processes.
Make sure you're on build 26.2.21869.0.
Open Go → Go to Folder
Navigate to /Library/Preferences
Download the attached .plist file and drag it into this location, replacing the existing file.
Note: Please do not use the “ ~ ” icon before /Library/Preferences
Once done, please reboot the application and your device and check whether this resolves the issue.

Is there a user-friendly method to do this? I’m not a programmer and none of your instructions make any sense. My Mac only opens plist files into a Text Edit document of gibberish. Are common users expected to “hack” into our desktop software now, in order to change a simple setting?

Can you PLEASE just add a selection in the preferences to simply DISABLE this popup?

The WhatsApp button is not a necessary feature. They made it so big in a way you keep hitting it
