Message: Please wait while the document is being prepared for

Hi,

Acrobat Pro DC, 2019.021.20049

Today my Acrobat started to give me this message some seconds, after I opened a booklet PDF file:

Please wait while the document is being prepared for

(The sentence just stops without any "reading" or whatever.)

I get this message only for booklet PDF files. My booklet PDFs have 1 to 8 pages. Even for the 1 page PDF I get this message.

The message has a progress bar, but there isn't any progress. I can only cancel this message.

While the message is displayed, I can still do something, open menus, etc.

I do not get these messages with regular non-booklet PDFs.

I create these booklets with CutePDF. The last booklet PDFs which I created are from 19 Oct 19, and then I did not get any messages.

I think that I got an Acrobat update since. Could this cause this message?

When I change the Screen Reader Options in Preferences | Reading to Only read the currently visible pages, I do not get this message.

That's fine for me. However, I do not want that others who open these PDFs get this message and do not know what to do.

Best regards

Winfried

Hi rachit123,

Thank you very much. Yes. I see that the message does not appear, when I change the screen reader options or the Accessibility settings.

I just asked a colleague also with Acrobat Pro DC. She does not get this message, when she opens my booklet PDF file although she has the same settings as I have. Strange.

Best regards

Hi,

This dialog is displayed when some assistive technology (like screen reader) is running/has been used on the system. However, some other tools like some keypress tracking tools are also detected as assistive technology.

  • If you are not an assistive technology user, just go to Acrobat Preferences -> Accessibility and uncheck the option "Enable Assistive Technology Support". This will stop the dialog from appearing.
  • If you are an assistive technology user, then go to Acrobat Preferences ->Reading and Under “Screen Reader Options” select “Only read the currently visible pages”. This will stop the dialog from appearing.

Note : However with this, the dialog may appear for heavy files sometimes.

Thanks and Regards,

Rachit Jain
