Missing Text, Titles, etc..

I have spent days working on this form for a interactive proposal for our company.  Several times when I have gone back in text is missing or something else I would have to replace.  I thought I had it all done and complete.  Just went backing and it's a total mess, spacing is off titles and text are gone. When I export it to word, all the text his there except of course it doesn't have all the formulas and form boxes, dropdown, formulas, etc. aren't there and if I re-import it to pdf I have to start a new form and basically start over.  I had labeled everything to eventually link with an excel estimating program I wrote but now I'm concerned this whole form will be unreliable.   I have tried to update acrobat dc and there was no change.  I am utterly frustrated and confused. Any advice before I trash days and days of work?

Actually, you won't. Form fields, scripts, etc. can be kept in tact and transferred over to the new file very easily.

All you have to do is open the old file and use the Replace Pages command to insert the pages from the new file over the old ones.

Everything else will remain as it were.

You've learned an important lesson, the hard way. PDF files were never meant to be edited in such an extensive way, and doing is so very risky and could cause them to go haywire. If you have the original file used to create the PDF you should always edit that file and when done, create a new PDF from it. If you don't have the original file export the PDF to an editable format (like Word) and use it as the new source material for your work. Editing directly in the PDF file should only be done when there's absolutely no other option, or for very minor corrections.

Ouch, Obviously not what I wanted to hear.  The issue other than spending an absorbent amount of time redoing it, is that if I make corrections in the future I am concerned I will have to continue to "start all over" again.  I have probably over a 100 text boxes, formulas and even some basic java script.
