Question

Mouse grab selection Acrobat 2017

Is it at all possible to select multiple items with a mouse drag, clicking and dragging a box around the items you want to select in either Acrobat 2017 Standard or Pro?

I often highlight symbols on PDF drawings using color rectangles which I often times have to copy from on page to the other.  When I have 100 of them on a page it is not practical to select them one by one to copy them.

Hi Default,

Quick answer: no

Slightly longer answer: kinda-sorta but not the way you'd think

Elaboration: There is no selection tool so there's nothing to "grab" with. As I'm sure you've already discovered, you can Command/Control-click and continue selecting your rectangles. After you've selected all of your rectangles if you right-click you can select "Group" that way all of them are now selectable with a single click. If you want, you can also do this as you work along: that is, do ten, group. do ten, group (and group with the previous set). Etc.

BTW, since you didn't ask, I don't know if you already knew this or didn't think to ask: if you select a tool, after using it, it becomes unselected. But in the Toolbar (where you selected the rectangle tool) is a "pin." This completely abstract icon is ment to "pin" your selection so you will keep the rectangle tool selected until you "un-pin" the tool.

I hope this helps!
