Multi-Line formatting not holding when fillable form is linked

I have created fillable forms and formatted them with the multi-line features but as soon as I link the form to be filled in the text becomes a huge run-on line that can't be viewed. How do I fix this?

What do you mean "link the form to be filled in"? Do you have Allow Rich text formatting selected in the field options tab?

Yes I do have allow rick text formatting on. I am linking this for in an assignment for students to fill out.
