Multiple image files into OCR PDF

Hi team,
Until recently, I have been dragging and dropping multiple Tiff files into Acrobat DC, clicking the 'Combine Files' button and getting a PDF, that I can then run an OCR on.

But now, the error message "There were 7 errors encountered while combining files..." and "Error during processing. File skipped."

I presume correlates with the most recent Mac update??

 

I'm working with very large Tiff files (sometimes 90mb), and need to convert them (usually 8 at a time) to PDF for character recognition (this is a huge portion of my job).

 

What can I do? Is this a bug/update that Adobe needs to run? My acrobat is up-to-date.

Here's my process:
Tools> Combine Files > Drag/drop files onto window> Click Combine = Error message occurs.
Other methods don't seem to work either.

Kia ora Amal,
Thank you for your prompt response.
Unfortunately, the error messages appear regardless of the location of the files (network or on my computer drive).

MacOS version is: 10.15.1
Acrobat version is: 19.21.20056.357018

I have also tried uninstalling and re-installing the software.

Hi there,

 

We are sorry to hear that the issue still persists. Please try the following steps and check if it works.

 

  • Rename the Tiff files (Save As) with different file name and try again to combine.
  • For testing purpose, please try to turn off the protected view. Go to Adobe Acrobat DC > Preferences > Enhanced Security > Turn off the protected View and uncheck Enhanced Security > Click OK and restart the application.
    Note: Please turn ON the security settings after testing, irrespective of the result.

 

Also, would you mind sharing the files you are trying to combine along with the screenshot of the error message via private message for further testing. Click  on the message icon on the top right corner of the screen to start the private message.

    We are sorry for the trouble. As described above, you are getting the error 'There were 7 errors encountered while combining files..." and "Error during processing. File skipped.' while combining the files.

     

    Are these files stored on a shared network drive? Please try to download the files to your computer and try to combine again and see if that helps.

     

    Also, What is the version of the MacOS and the Adobe Acrobat DC? To check the version of the application please use the link (https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/identify-product-version.html)

     

    Make sure you have the latest version 19.21.20049. Go to Help > Check for Updates. For more information please use the link (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html)
