In pdf edit mode, acrobat no longer allows me to delete objects.  I can delete images, and text objects but I can not delete lines or rectangles.  I can select these objects, resize and move them.  Coppy and Past them but can not delete them.  I have reinstalled acrobat 4 times and the problem persists.  I have created a new user profile on the pc and the problem was resolved for 24 house but came back on the new profile.

Coppying and pasting objects within edit mode also no longer works the same.

    Hi @Russell25415992acx9 ,

Hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. We are sorry for the trouble you are experiencing, especially after four reinstalls.

A few things that would help since reinstalling and a new profile only bought you 24 hours:

    • Does this happen with every PDF you open, or is it specific files, like ones from a certain source or created after a particular date?

    • When you set up the new Windows user profile, did you sign into the same Adobe ID/account in Acrobat, or a different one, or stay signed out?

    • What's your exact Acrobat version and build (Help > About Adobe Acrobat), and is this the classic Acrobat Pro DC interface or the newer Acrobat interface?

A couple of things worth checking on the files themselves:

    • Open the Layers panel (View > Show/Hide > Side Panels > Layers) and confirm the layer holding those lines and rectangles isn't locked or hidden. A locked layer can still allow selecting, moving, and copying an object while blocking deletion, which matches what you're describing.

    • In the Edit tab, try turning on "Highlight Selected Text," then click directly on one of the lines or rectangles. In at least one similar community case, this made the delete option reappear where it hadn't before.

Since a full reinstall and even a brand new Windows profile only fixed this temporarily, try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://adobe.ly/4xn5uIz and reboot the application and see if that works.

Let us know how it goes.
