Help!

My Adobe PDF printer stopped working on a Windows 10 updated system- this may be the problem?

I deleted it from my printers and reinstalled Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro with the Adobe PDF printer. It just sits in the spool mode or printer mode indefinitely when using with Word or Word Perfect to print PDF files. I have gone online and loaded the latest Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro software and reinstalled it again deleting the Acrobat PDF printer and reinstalling with the Acrobat 9 Pro. It still hangs up in the spool and printer direct mode. What do I need to do to get it working again.

Any help would be highly appreciated!

Best Regards, Brother James

Hi Brother James,

I think it's safe to say that your copy of Acrobat 9 is simply too old for your Windows 10 system. Acrobat-9 has not been supported in a very long time. What that means is that Adobe will maintain software for up to 5 years from time of creation. After that they do not test it to work with either hardware or software (the operating system) to make sure it works.

You have passed that time limit a long time ago.

It sound like from your description that it was working until it wasn't and that change occurred after you did something to the instillation? I'm going to guess that it was working in some fashion but you moved or deleted something that was helping it limp along.

I'm afraid your only course is to get an updated version of Acrobat that was designed to work with Windows 10 or find an old computer that's running an older version of Windows to do your Acrobat work within.
