My DC created form drop down menu choices are not being recorded or saved when I save or when I email the form.

I didn't have the 'Lock' box check. Should I be checking it? ('Lock' box in the lower left)

What exactly does that box do? It is not explained anywhere.

You need to remove the tick from the Locked box and then add the items you want under the Options tab of the field.

If you don't do that it will always be empty, unless you manually enter a value into it (in which case you should just use a text field).
