Named destinations in xml to PDF output

We aim to create named destinations in our xmetal topics which are translated into the PDF output via the SDL CMS. We want to build the software with the PDfs and include context-sensitive link to specific topics in the user interface.

We are trying to work out how to create named destinations for our xmetal content which translates to the PDF output.

So far we have found in Xmetal that there are resourceIDs and key references although not sure exactly what to do with these.

The GUIDS assigned to topics in the CMS we use are translated into the PDF output but with slight variations that can vary depending on how the postion of items change in the output on each edit.

Can anyone help us to solve this ?
