Question

need to ungroup grouped comments in PDF in Acrobat

I've been annotating a PDF within Acrobat, adding pop-up notes. I grouped a bunch of them from the contextual menu, and now their text is no longer displaying in the Comments panel. I need them back.

I see no function to ungroup them. Selecting all the same items again only has "Group" in the contextual menu. How do I get all that text back, without having to create them all over again?

Yes, I know about the warning:

"After the selected comments are grouped, status, text contents, and replies of the non-primary comment will be hidden."

...but there is no escaping out of that message. The only option is "OK" and that proceeds with grouping—and hiding all of the type.

Again, these are pop-up sticky note comments. Acrobat DC 2019, Mac OS High Sierra

Select any one of the grouped annots, right click on it, then select "Ungroup".

perhaps I was not clear — there is no "Ungroup" option, only "Group"

Even in Reader DC I have an "Ungroup" option in the right click menu. This must be a bug in the Mac Version.
