Question

New Acrobat's Poor Visibility

There are many improvements in the new Acrobat that are great. If I disable new Acrobat to avoid the things I don't like about new Acrobat, I quickly miss the improvements. However, general visibility and convenience in new Acrobat needs significant improvement. The "solution" to disable new Acrobat is temporary at best: it is inevitable that that option will disappear. Here are a few things I'm talking about.

When preferences are set to display documents in tabs and two or more tabs are open, (a) the color of the current document's tab blends in with the surrounding interface and (b) is only slightly different from the color of other tabs, requiring pausing too long to find what you're looking for. It would be nice if the current tab color contrasted more with both the surrounding interface and other tabs.

The "plain vanilla" tool icons in the sidebars need color: they are not readily distinguishable. Looking for the right tool is visusally fatiguing , far too much of a struggle.

The reduced customizability of the toolbars in the new Acrobat is a step in the wrong direction.

Finally, please restore first-page / last-page arrows adjacent to the page up /page down arrows in the side panel.

Hi @ODuinn,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

We really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. Would you mind sharing the same here: https://adobe.ly/4kDoSuA;

This ensures that the feedback reaches the development team directly for review and future implementation.

Also, the color issue sounds more like a step to do with your system's graphics card driver than with Acrobat directly.

Have you tried manually downloading the Graphics Card drivers from the manufacturer's website and installing them?

If you know the card's make, model and manufacturer, you can share the details here, and we can help you download the drivers using the direct link from their website.

Regards,
Souvik.

I will indeed share to the link you provided. I don't believe the graphics card issue is relevant. My comments are the same whether viewing Acrobat on my Mac (a 2024 MacBookAir silicon) or on my PC (a 2023 HP Envy), but I want to withdraw my criticism of tab color. My comment about color in regard to the "plain vanilla" icons in the sidebars are unrelated to a graphics card and are rather a matter of the black & white designs of the colorless icons. It takes more time focusing on the icons in the task bar on the left, which cumulatively becomes a source of irritation. It was easier and therefor quicker to find  the colored task icons in the righthand taskbar in the previous Acrobat interface.

Thanks, @ODuinn, for the details.

The graphics card part was focused on the tab color you mentioned.

Apart from it, please feel free to add all your pointers to the feedback form.

Thanks again for your feedback.

Regards,
Souvik.
