New Brother MFC when scanning a document to PDF requires that original document be rotated 90 degrees from scanner's default feed direction

I have installed a new Brother MFC-J6945DW..  This problem occurs when using the document feeder or the glass.  If I scan the document in the orientation clearly indicated on the device the page is roated 90 degrees and that potion of the dcan whic shows up inDC pro is correctly oriented.  How do I fix this?.
