Question

New document URL requested

Earlier this month, i.e. May 3, 2024, I had a client e-sign a document... I received the usual "signed and filed" email notification.

Today, May 21, 2024, I received an email from the Adobe Sign system for the same document saying it was 'signed and filed' -- again -- what's happening?

When I logged into my Adobe account to check on what was going on, under activity for this document it says, 'new document URL requested by me.' I have made made no such request.

Anyone know what this means? It seems awfully suspicious to me... I work at an accounting firm and we handle confidential information. I'm wondering if my account has been compromised?

I had a similar thing happen. I sent a document to be signed and included a CC. Numerous automatic reminders were sent to the signer and CC and the document has yet to be signed. I viewed the "Actions" and it showed that at one point, before more reminders were sent, a "new document URL was requested by [the CC]".  Other than that reference I have not seen any request for a new document URL. I'm baffled.

Hi keith33304302u6fc,

Thank you for reaching out.

It generally happens when you send a document for signature with an expiry date, and the recipient opens the document after it has expired. Then, the recipient gets an option to request a new document URL.

If you get a request from any of the recipients for the new document URL for an unsigned document, please check with that recipient to confirm.

However, the options should not be available for the signed and filed document. If this happens for a completed document, please check with the recipient who sent the request to determine if it is genuine. Then, please share the information with us so we can check it. Please share the email addresses for both accounts (sender and recipient) so we can check what might be causing this behavior on the backend. You can share the email address in a private message. You may send a private message using the envelope icon at the top right corner of this community page.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

The same thing happened to me, but the doc was not signed and the email address was one of the cc:s, not mine.

@Fabrice5C1F Seems to be crickets from Adobe on this...  😞   FYI, I've not had this issue again since my original post. Not sure why, I didn't change anything, so maybe it will resolve itself for you?

Same thing is happening to me.  My completed signed document from 2 months ago has shown up in my email twice this month.  This glitch needs to be addressed  -- Adobe please reply.
