New install of Acrobat 2020 Student and Teacher won't open after successful installation

I purchased Acrobat 2020 Student and Teacher via download from Best Buy. This is the serial number version, which I have in my possession, and my status as a teacher was validated by Adobe. At first it kept asking for sign in every time I tried to launch it, and then quit without me reaching the Adobe server. After fixing that problem (Cleaner, Uninstall, turn off Firewall, etc), I did a reinstall. Now it doesn't ask me to sign in any more, it just won't open. I click on the app, and pouf, nothing. I am on a Macbook Air 2022 running Sequoia, and many other people in the Community say this should work. But for me, no. I am thinking of downgrading my MacOS as a result as I know it runs in earlier operating sysyems. Anyone have any ideas besides getting rid of Sequoia? I live in an area with little internet coverage, so moving to Cloud-based anything is problematic, hence the SN version.

Hello Laurie!

I hope you are doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble.

As our community expert correctly pointed out, Acrobat 2020 is an older product that has reached its end of support. For more details, refer to this article: Adobe End of Support Information.

Technical Specifications:
Acrobat 2020 supports the following macOS versions:

  • macOS v10.14, v10.15, v11‡, v12, v13, and v14 (Sonoma).
It may not be compatible with the latest macOS Sequoia (version 15). For more details, visit: Acrobat 2020 System Requirements.

Troubleshooting Tip:
Use the Acrobat Cleaner Tool to remove any corrupted files, restart your machine, and reinstall Acrobat. Use the serial number for Activation.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

2020 is rather old. If you select About Adobe Acrobat from the Acrobat menu, what is the exact version you see there?

If it's less than 2024, is there a reason you can't update to the most recent version, which does work well on Sequoia?
