Question

New Laptop-Adobe no longer lets me edit PDF's

I have Adobe Pro.  I recently got a new laptop. When I try to edit a PDF, it gives me an error that I need to upgrade to use the features.  I've tried signing in and out and the Cloud version, but it still doesn't work.  How do I fix this issue?

I've solved this by going through the process to upgrade even though I already have Pro.  Then, I signed out and back in.  It seems to be working and the subscription shows the same.

Hello @drslrb

I hope you are doing well.

Thanks for sharing what happened and how you worked around it. When Acrobat Pro shows an “upgrade to use this feature” message on a new machine, even though you already have Pro, it’s usually a licensing state or installation variant issue.
Make sure it’s Acrobat Pro (Continuous), not Reader or Standard. In Acrobat: Menu > Help > Sign Out → quit Acrobat > Restart the machine, and relaunch Acrobat > Menu > Help > Sign In with the Adobe ID that owns your Pro subscription (avoid alternate/corporate IDs). This refreshes the entitlement locally.
