New version seems very buggy, locks up.

The new update keeps going unresponsive on both pc and mac, when reading pdfs. 
Sometimes the cause is the spam popups about the new features but even after turning that off it still locks up for some time. 

Is there a way to go back a version, until this gets fixed?
