Newby question relating to Beginner Tutorial Videos learning Acrobat Pro DC please

I have just upgraded to acrobat pro DC.

why cant I see all the files in the Open dialogue box for the tutorial video on exporting to pdf?

I can only see one file, the png.

I can type *.* into the open dialogue box and it will load the Powerpoint file, as the video instructs, but an error message is displayed when I try to convert to pdf.

I have re-installed Acrobat, so any advice would be welcome.

Thanks.

Correct answer kimsnave

I have been onto Adobe telephone support and they have run a diagnostic.

The fault appears to lie with my version of Microsoft Office and not with Adobe.

Thank you for your help.

Although Office 2007 is old, it is supposed to still work with Acrobat DC so long as it was installed first. What is this error message exactly?

PowerPoint was added a long time ago as part of the office suite I bought back in 2007 or thereabouts.

This is the error message that appears after I have typed *.* in the "open" dialogue box, have selected the special-offers-deck (as instructed by the tutorial video) and pressed "create" in pdf tools.

All other tools and functions are working correctly in the program so if this is an old tutorial that should not be there I can move on.

I am concerned, though, that I may have a corrupted application hence my request for help from the forum.

Can you help with that please?

Thanks,

Tony

This sounds like an old tutorial that may be out of date. Could you post a link to the tutorial please? Also, do you have Powerpoint installed on this computer?

Get started with Acrobat DC |

Link as above, yes I do have PowerPoint 2007 on my computer.

The problem seems to lie in the fact I can only "Open" certain files in adobe and it does not include pptx, docx or xlsx. If I do then I get an error message.

Thanks for your advice.
