The newest version of Acrobat Pro will not open in a regular directory using macOS Sonoma 14.4.1. It will only open in a root directory.

Doesn't work. I am looking for a new vendor. Adobe failed me. Apple says it's your problem. 20+ years with Adobe and they upgrade and it failed.

Hi @michaell46104117

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

What happens when you try to open the application in regular profile? Do you get any error message? If yes, please share the screesnhot of the same for more clarity.

Please try to remove the application using the Acrobat cleaner tool https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html, reboot the computer and reinstall the application using the direct link https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html and see if that works.

Let us know how it goes.

That doesn't work. I had Adobe customer support on the line. They created a Root directory and we can open Acrobat there but it will not open in my regular directory. They claim it's a mac issue. I don't know what to do. The app won't open. It shows up at the bottom of the screen. Sometimes when I try and open it I can see Adobe is verifying. But most of the time nothing happens.

Hi there

As the application is working fine in the root account, it seems to be some issue with the regular user profile. There isn't much that we can do. Please try to repair the affected user profile and see if that works.
