Question

No thumbnails created

Whenver I use Open/Save File dialog boxes in Acrobat Reader, it doesn't show thumbnails for the files in the current folder. It just show the generic icon for a PDF file.

Other programs do create the thumbnails when I use their Open/Save dialog boxes and Windows Explorer does create the thumbnails as well. This seems to be an issue related to Acrobat Reader only.

I am on Window 10 Pro 21H1 and the latest version of Reader.

Thanks!

Do you have the setting (shown in the screen capture) enabled in your Preferences?

My best,

Of course!  If that were just the issue . . .

Just checking to be sure.  Every once in a while, and I always suspect after an update, I find some settings defferent than I had them set earlier.

Hi ROCKnRLR

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, when you use Open/Save File dialog boxes in Acrobat Reader, it doesn't show thumbnails for the files in the current folder .It just show the generic icon for a PDF file.

When you use the open file dialogue box from the ''File menu'' in the lower right corner select 'All Files' to get the thumbnail of the files as shown below:

When you use the save dialogue box , the only option to save the file type is a Adobe PDF file hence it shows the PDF icon for the files.

Hope this information will help

Regards

Amal

Thanks for your suggestion but it doesn't work!  I just tried it and old files in the folder do show thumbnails but newly created files do not.  Your suggestion works with File Open but it doesn't with File Save As as there is no option for "All files". If I use Windows Explorer the thumbnails get created just fine.

Interestingly...If I set my folder view to Large Icons, I lose the preview.  Move the slider down to Medium icons... I see the preview!

Does yours behave this way?  Would setting the view differently bring the previews back?
