OCR messed up my highlighting

Question

I used the free-hand highlighting tool to markup (and comment) on a pdf and saved it.  A few months later, I went into the document and used the "recognize text" tool (OCR) and saved it without looking through the document.  When I opened it back up a few days later, I noticed that all my previous highlights had been turned vertical from horizontal, and they were all moved around on the page.  I can only assume this happened with I ran the recognize text function.  How can I undo this?

As mentioned above, the PDF was highlighted, and then OCR was done. After using the recognize text tool, you get the option to save the changes. Did you check if the highlights were there?

Would you mind sharing the document with us so we can check it on our end? Did you check if the issue occurred with other PDFs?

Share the Acrobat and OS version numbers installed on the machine.
