OCR not working

Question

I have a tax form (a 1040) I downloaded from Turbotax then opened using DC and tried to copy and paste text out of it. But DC wanted to copy an entire page instead of a single line or word. So I went to Tools, selected OCR, scanned & saved the form. But DC still wants to select most of a page instead of just the sections I want. What have I done wrong?

To be clear, this is not a scanned form so there's no issue of it not being scanned properly. Nor is the form one with fields that can be typed in. It's just a simple tax form that's been filled out.

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble, and the delayed response.

In situations where you need data copied from a form, it is highly suggested to convert the file to Word and then keep the parts you need.

Such IRS forms have limited options for content extraction or copying, thus converting the file would yield the best result.
