Question

OCR Scanned Document not showing Changes when Comparing 2 version of a document.

Inspite of running the OCR scan and then comparing 2 documents with PPT image slides in them the compare does not show the changes in the slide part of the page. To elaborate on the issue we ran the OCR scan to recognize the text content of the slides which are a part of every page in a PDF document. When accessing the individual files we are able to click on or select the text on the slide part of the page. However, when we run the Compare tool the compare report shows the whole slide as changed rather than showing the text alone that has been changed. I am working on Adobe Acrobat DC Pro. Could some one help me with this.

    Hi Sash,

We are sorry for the trouble. As described the compare tool is not comparing two versions of the PDF file. Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try to compare the different pdfs and check.

What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version of the application please use the link (https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/identify-product-version.html)and make sure you have the latest version installed Go to Help > Check for Updates.

Also, make sure the option 'Compare text only' is unchecked while comparing the documents. For more detailed information please refer to the help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/using/compare-documents.html)

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards

    Amal
