Open message to Adobe regarding activation (switched to Foxit)
I have become so annoyed with Adobe's activation/log in system, that even though I pay for Creative Cloud (which is not cheap), I am tired of going through a ridiculous process to open a PDF on the many computers I own. What Adobe doesn't realize is that by pushing everyone to upgrade to Pro version, it makes opening a PDF a 10 minute process (sometimes requiring a reboot, due to wacky 'something went wrong' messages). Not only that with the dual factor authentication, if my cell phone is not with me when I am at a different computer in the house I need to run and grab my phone just to open a stinking pdf. The other annoying thing about their activation system is that when I got a new cell phone, and went to set up a reimaged windows computer, I almost panicked because it required me to go into the adobe authentication (which also wanted me to log in, and requested the dual authentication to get into the authentication system), thank goodness we have 2 cell phones and one of them still had it. That is how out of touch Adobe is on this stuff. Not only does acrobat have a horrible activation system (that doesn't match the rest of creative cloud, because we have no where near the problems with the rest of the suite as we do with acrobat) but at least we don't get a 'something went wrong' and the program just immediately closes. It is like you have to do what you can to try to trick this software you pay a lot of money for.
I am just sick of it!!! The thing that pushed me over the top, is I used to get around this annoying process by installing the adobe acrobat free reader in addition to creative cloud and Acrobat DC. But now it is clear adobe will not let you do this, as no matter what I try to do it won't let me install both. So since Adobe made it's decision, I've made mine. I installed Fox it reader, and it works perfectly and it is free. Honestly, it has made me decide not to immediately dump Creative Cloud all together (Adobe you can thank them for that), because I am tempted to just switch to free programs without the annoying log in, activation process.
Adobe is on probation here, I am ready to dump it all if they make it any worse.
