Opening PDF error message

When opening a PDF I get this error message

I have checked for updates but DC is up to date

I have run preflight and returns with this

Another question: Does MS Word have it's own in built distiller / print to PDF version?

My MS Word appears to be version 1.6 from the preflight report, even when right clicking on the document and converting to PDF?!?

Adobe Acrobat DC doesn't support PDF version 2.7.
