Optimize Gives Unhelpful Error Message

I'm trying to optimize a large GeoPDF (95 MB), and I got this error message which doesn't tell me what the issue is.  Any suggestions?

The warning appears to be about converting images. I'm guessing this could be a file type, compression, transparency or some other image issue. Try saving your PDF as a PDF/X-1a before optimizing. Or you could run an Acrobat Preflight (Tools> Print Production> Preflight) which might give you more detailed information.
