Overlaping boxes/containers

We process many excel to pdfs for reporting. And these pdf tend to have a lot of overlapping text objects, which needs to be separated/moved apart to make sense.

When we try doing the above using Edit Object functionality in Adobe Acrobat X Pro, it works fine (two text objects are the same and they get separated). But, when the same pdf is accessed in Adobe Acrobat DC Pro using Edit Object, the objects are either partially/fully merged as one. Hence, they get separated incorrectly.

We process many such documents and would want to know the reason and the solution for the issue as soon as possible.
