Page Numbers/Bates Numbering
Hello all,
I need some help with the heading&footer/bates numbering feature that adobe acrobat pro offers.
I work in a legal office and we submit documents to a court electronically. 95% of the time, each court submissed needs to be paginated. We used to paginate by hand, but it got very annoying when we had bigger submissions that were 500 pages or more. Many of these submissions have "exhibit/tab" cover pages. We aren't supposed to add page numbers to these cover pages. I was wondering if there was a way to "skip" the page numbers on those pages so it isn't counted as a page number?
A court submission should be like this:
Exhibit A
Evidence (page 1)
Evidence (Page 2)
Exhibit B
Evidence (page 3)
Evidence (page 4)
The issue is when I use the bates number/Header&footer feature it'll add the page numbers to the "Exhibits" pages so it will look like this:
Exhibit A (Page 1)
Evidence (Page 2)
Evidence (Page 3)
Exhibit B (Page 4)
Evidence (Page 5)
Evidence (Page 6).
Is there any way I could "skip" over the "exhibit" cover pages without counting it as a page? I've searched all over the adobe community forum and reddit, but I can't seem to find anything that works. If I delete the page number from the cover sheets, it doesn't do anything to shift the numbers over.
Please let me know! I appreciate all the advice or help I could get. Thank you all!!
