Pages in Booklet in wrong order

Hi People,

We are printing to a Ricoh C6503 MFP with two printer drivers installed. The PCL printer driver prints the booklet in the correct order, but the PostScript driver is all over the place:

Pg 2 on Front page

Pg 3 on Pg 2

Pg 6 on Pg 3

Pg 7 on Pg 4

Pg 10 on Pg 5

Pg 11 on Pg 6

Back page on Pg 7

Pg 9 on Pg 8

Pg 8 on Pg 9

Pg 5 on Pg 10

Pg 4 on Pg 11

Front Page on Back page

The same settings in each driver are applied. InDesign also does the same thing.

However, if I use a third party PDF application, the print order is correct. So our suspicions are that Adobe applications are not interacting well with the Ricoh Postscript printer driver.

Advise please.

Andrew

You need to find out if this is caused by Acrobat or the printer driver. To do this I suggest to redirect the print output to a postscript file and to re-convert the postscript back into a PDF using the distiller. If the page order is then OK, it's not caused by Acrobat.

Thanks Doung,

Definltyl not the print driver.

I did as you suggested but the pages are still in the wrong order.

I've also printed direct from InDesign with the same outcome.

If I create a booklet in Word and print directly from Word, the booklet works as expected with the PS print driver. Once I convert to PDF from Word and print from Acrobat, the error returns.

If I use a different reader e.g. Foxit, the booklet appears as expected.

So I suspect there is some conflict between Adobe products and the print driver.
