Question

Paper printout lacks white rectangles visible on screen

I've been adjusting PDF images of book pages by adding red text in the margins and using opaque white rectangles to cover distracting paragraphs or photos.  Everything looks fine on the screen,  with the areas covered by white rectangles appearing blank, as intended.  But when I print the PDF on paper, the added red text is all there, but the opaque white rectanges are no longer present, leaving the distracting PDF text in place.  What am I doing wrong?

Hi @CivGuy2009,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble, and the delayed response.

Have you tried printing the file as an image? To do so, go to Print-> Advance-> toggle the checkbox saying "Print as Image."

If that doesn't work, you can also try and create a new flattened copy of the file which will mix in all the layers and create one flat layer. So, whatever you see on the newly created file, is what the printer will print.
