Paste without Edit mode

My job entails copying and pasting text from an Excel spreadsheet onto PDF documents. I used to be able to copy directly from the spreadsheet and just paste onto the PDF (almost like a stamp), even with an Adobe Certificate signature. After the latest update, it appears that now I must go into 'Edit' mode in order to paste the copy of the spreadsheet onto the document, which has becoming lengthy since I work with hundreds of PDFs a week. This also means that I cannot paste on an Adobe Certified document as well since I cannot edit these once they've been signed. Is there any way around this?

Adding Text was never allowed in a PDF without editing a file. However, we can add text as part of Comments/annotation
