Question

pdf_auto_file Type

Have a unique situation with Windows 10 where when in file explorer, PDFs are set to the type of pdf_auto_file.  The default apps settings also show Acrobat PRO DC is set as the default to open but under .pdf it shows pdf_auto_file versus Adobe Acrobat Document.  When it is set to pdf_auto_file, the user is unable to select multiple files to print.  They have to open each, which becomes an issue when there are 15+ to print.

Has anyone seen this and have a resolution?

Debbie

Search for this key in the registery HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\.pdf and delete this entry. This solved the issue for me.

We're having a different problem (icons for pdf files don't display correctly in our DMS), but the same issue seems to lie at the root: .pdf is registered as 'pdf_auto_file'. Did you ever find a solution?
