PDF automatically updating data on a website

Question

Hi everyone!

I really hope that someone can help with this because I have been looking for a solution for weeks. We have a Squarespace website and have links to several PDFs. Most of the PDFs are standard but one of the PDFs has data on it that is constantly changing and we would like the updated data to be viewable to our end users. On our previous website, the PDF always reflected the most current information automatically.

However, now the PDF is always blank and none of the data is showing at all.

I would be fine either embeddding the PDF on the site or just having a link that opens the PDF in a new window.... whatever works!

Does the PDF file show correctly if you download it and then open using Adobe Reader?

If so, the issue is with the PDF plugin that is used in the browser to display the file.

There's really nothing much we can do about that. It's a local setting that can be different for each user.

You need to instruct the users to open the files in Reader, and not in the browser, if they want them to display correctly.

You may want to look at Adobe Experience Manager Designer (formally LiveCycle Designer) and the other AEM services. They can create dynamic PDFs that are data driven.
