Question

PDF Batch editing (move content sidewise) on plenty of files

Hi Community

I had a problem (upss, plenty of posts shoudl start like this)

During the past years I have build plenty (about 200 files) on PDF for printing purposes, they are shourt like books-alike, most of them same size, form 50 to 100 pages, for a art-exibition.

Well, we made a test print on few of them, and discovered that the page number and short of footer, aligned to the outside side (left on left pages, right on right ones) is too close to avoid lossing it on printing.

Priting services recomend me to give 4 mm more of edge-printing on it ...

I could live moving all content to the inside side (rightwise on left pages, leftwise on right pages), but sure I need to do it automatically...

Does Adobe, or anyother software developer, have features for that batch editing ??

How else could I face that problem ??

thansk for the help,

I am really lost, I can't go file by file moving content inside manually page by page ...

(note, page size should be maintained. Original most made on word and pages, but I have just like 30% of them. I made the PDFs, printing usually, to avoid to cope with multiple formats)

You can change the page box, thereby moving the page contents, but that's about it. PDF files were not meant for this kind of involved editing, and Acrobat doesn't offer tools for doing it in an automated fashion. This is really the kind of thing you should do on the source material used to create the PDF, not on the PDF file itself.

Yes, I know, loosing source file was not the best idea,

but nevertheless PDF have been using to keep a standar format acors diferent publishers (isn't that the intention of PDF?)

I look for page box, but that would mean change the size of the page, isn't it ?
Probably I could extend the box, and then force printing in the desire size, that will scalate everything,

Was that your idea ??

On the other hand, searching for page box I found references to software like:

Enfocus PitStop

- Agfa DocuBoxManager

Have somebody try those and may be used for batch processing
(even I would have to open each file one by one, but running short of macro inside them)

Here's a tutorial that fully explains page boxes in PDF

https://www.pdfscripting.com/public/PDF-Page-Coordinates.cfm?sd=40

This one is less complete, but has a download example.
