Pdf created by scanning is too small

Hi, @iltirdo, as others have stated, if you are using Acrobat Reader, the problem is not with Adobe. So, please verify if you are using Acrobat Reader, Acrobat Standard, or Acrobat Pro.

Meanwhile, to verify if the problem is with the PDF application that helps you access your scanner's software, please locate YOUR scanner's software and try to scan with that. For example, if you have an HP scanner, look for any HP scanning software on your computer. If you have an Epson scanner, look for any Epson scanning software. 

I can't speak for the software you are using, but I can speak for Acrobat software, which cannot scan anything. Such capability is not part of Acrobat's wheelhouse. Acrobat uses some software called TWAIN to access your scanner's software. It's mostly fine to do that, but it occasionally has issues. What you are describing is not one of them. If you can recreate this using your scanner's software, then it's not the PDF software you are using and is related to your scanner's software. If the problem goes away, then it's probably due to your PDF software scanning dynamics.

@iltirdo it's likely due to the scanner software's settings, not Adobe Acrobat Reader. Acrobat Reader is primarily a PDF viewer, not a creator, so it can't change the size of a document during the scanning process. The issue is that the scanner is likely set to auto-detect page size and is incorrectly cropping the scanned image, resulting in a small PDF. Locate the scanning application you're using. In the application's settings, look for an option related to document size or page size. Change the setting from "Auto Detect" or "Automatic" to "A4". This forces the scanner to use a full A4 sheet, regardless of what it "detects." Also, check for any settings related to "cropping" or "cropping margins." How are you scanning documents in PDF format, and how is the Reader involved in scanning? Would it be possible to share a PDF file with us? 

Adobe Acrobat Reader is a freeware app and doesn't have the capability to scan documents. If the document is created by using a non-Adobe(third-party) application, kindly check the settings and the resulting PDF dimensions.
