PDF Download Issue on Website – Acrobat Compatibility Problem
Hello Adobe community,
I hope you can help me with a puzzling issue I'm experiencing on my website. Recently, I've noticed that some users are having difficulties downloading PDF files from my website using Adobe Acrobat. The problem seems to be specific to Acrobat, as other PDF viewers work fine.
Here are the details of the issue:
-
Symptoms: When users attempt to download a PDF file from my website using Adobe Acrobat, they encounter delays or, in some cases, the download fails altogether.
-
Browser Compatibility: The issue appears to be browser-independent, as it has been reported on various browsers (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge).
-
Acrobat Versions: Users have reported encountering the problem on different versions of Adobe Acrobat, including both older and the latest versions.
-
Other PDF Viewers: Interestingly, users who opt to use alternative PDF viewers (such as Foxit Reader or Microsoft Edge's built-in PDF viewer) do not experience any issues when downloading the same files.
-
Server Configuration: I've checked my server logs and haven't identified any abnormalities related to PDF file requests. Additionally, the PDF files are accessible and downloadable without any issues when accessed directly without going through the website.
-
File Integrity: I've verified that the PDF files are not corrupted and can be opened without any problems once successfully downloaded.
I'm wondering if anyone else in the community has encountered a similar problem or if there are any specific settings or configurations that might impact how PDF files are handled by Adobe Acrobat within a website context.
Any insights or suggestions you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance!
