PDF Downloaded in Chrome Automatically Opening in Acrobat

My Acrobat upated to version 2024.002.20687 and when I download a PDF in Chrome it automatically opens each PDF in Acrobat.  I download a lot of PDFs all at once and it is annoying to have to close out of each opened PDF before I can download the next one.  How do I get it to stop opening automatically.  I've search for answers and the only answer that seems to work for others is changing this preference below but I don't have this option.

Menu > Preferences > General > "Open PDFs automatically in reader when they are downloaded in Chrome browser"

This wasn't happen yesterday and only started this morning.  How do I fix this?

Hi All,

Thank you for your patience.

The issue has been resolved in the July update released today. Please try updating the application to the latest version. In Acrobat, go to Menu > Help > Check for updates.

For more information on the update, refer to the following page: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/continuous/dccontinuousjuly2024.html#dccontinuousjulytwentytwentyfour.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

I am having the same issue and it is very frustrating as I download hundreds of files a week, I do not need every single one of those files opening automatically.

I have the exact same problem and can't find a solution.

Every PDF I download automatically opens in Acrobat.  Very frustrating.

Hi there,

Would you mind sharing a small video recording of your steps and the issue occurring for more clarity?

I'm having the same issue. This is an extemely annoying problem, so it needs addressing. I would hate to have to switch to a competitor's PDF reader, just because of this one irritation!

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

Would you mind sharing a small video recording of the steps you are taking that lead to the issue for more clarity?

Also, would you mind collecting the Adobe CC logs https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html , Procmon logs (Win Only) https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/acromonitor.html and share them via any cloud storage. Just upload the log file to the cloud and generate the link and share that link with us for further investigation.

Regards
Amal

The same thing happened to me and it's so frustrating because everyone just says to click that option but it's no longer there!
