PDF error not opening

I have Acrobat Reader on my PC. I am trying to open a PDF document on an external hard drive but I get the following message: "There was an error opening this document. Access denied". I have tried all the possible solutions I could find but nothing is working.

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble.

Have you checked if the file access and write permissions are available for the directories on the external hard drives?

To test, would you mind moving a file to your computer's desktop and try to view the file on Acrobat from there.
