PDF file size reduction

I'm trying to reduce the size of my pdf.  I need to get it down to 5MB, but I can only get it down to 36.2MB when I optimize.  I audited space usage and it has 99% content streams.  Do I need to reduce that to get the file down and how do I do it?  What other ways can I get the file down to 5MB?

Content streams are pretty much fixed in size. They contain all the text and line art from the file. If you can arrange that there is less line art or text it may get smaller.

Who needs the file to be 5 MB? If it is for email there are solutions.

Hi Julias,

As you have mentioned that you are trying to reduce the file size to 5MB, could you please confirm the exact size of the file that you are trying to compress?

You may go through the forum discussion How to reduce the size of PDF  where similar concern has been addressed and explained with the reason why PDF size if too big and how it can be protectively handle.

Its a very helpful article, you may please go through it and see if that helps to you too or not.
