PDF files prior to December 23, 2021 will not open.

Question

Ant pdf file create before December 23, 2021 will not open.

Adobe acrobat is set as my default preogram to open PDF's.

I get an error message saying:

Abobe Acrocate could not open the "file.pdf" because it is not a supported file type or becuase the file has been damaged (for example , it was sent as an email attachement and was not decoded properly.)

To create an Adobe PDF document , go to the source application. Then print the docuemnt to Adobe PDF.

It is only for files created before 12/23/2021 on my laptop.

I am running Windows 11 version 22H2.

Adobe Acrobat Standard is version 2023.003.20244 64 bit

Researching thru the help data base I cannot find any solutions.

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

As the issue is occurring only with the PDFs created before December 23, 2021, please try to recreate the PDF from the original source file and see if that helps.

You may also try to repair the damaged PDF as described here https://www.adobe.com/uk/acrobat/resources/repair-pdf.html and see if that work.
