pdf form fields are viewable in Chrome browser but blank when opening in Adobe Acrobat Pro. Help.

The attached screenshot shows what I see when viewing from my local PC's installed version of Adobe Pro.  If I use the online version, I see the data in the fields.  If I open the pdf in Chrome browser, I see data.

I also had someone else open the file in Adobe Reader and they could view the data.

Ideas?

Hi there

I hope you're doing well, and thank you for reaching out to us.

Could you please let us know if this issue started recently or has been happening for a while?

Additionally, what version of Acrobat Pro are you currently using? To check, go to Help > About Acrobat. If you’re not already on the latest version (24.05.2039X), please update it by navigating to Help > Check for Updates, then restart your computer and see if the issue persists.

Also, is this problem occurring with a specific PDF form, or does it affect all PDF forms? Please try opening a different form and let us know if the issue still occurs. If it's a file-specific issue, could you share the affected PDF with us? This will help us investigate further.

Local installed Version :

This is not the only .pdf that this happens on.  I cant share the files because they contain confidential info.  It does seem that this tax form from the screenshot is XFA-based.  I am not sure if that is the issue.  I have installed the latest version but it didnt make a difference.

Hi @Jamie3122889550na

Sorry for the delayed response.
As the screenshot attached shows, visually fillable fields are available. If they are available on Chrome, they can also be available on Acrobat.

You may check a Preference by launching Acrobat > Edit > Preferences > Forms > "Fields Highlight color:" Also, check other preferences (please check the screenshot attached)

Let us know if that resolves the problem. If that is not the case, we sadly cannot suggest further unless we have access to the file. If you have a blank PDF, please share that. If you want to share it privately (if possible), click on the envelope icon at the top right corner and send the link to download the form.
