Question

PDF FormsFillable displaying different results on different PC's

First, I am new to creating and maintaining fillable PDF forms.

I am editing pre-built fillable forms. I have users reporting different results than what I see on my PC. Number formats that should be xx.xx (two decimal places) works fine on my PC but the form on other PCs is showing xx.x single decimal place.

I have fields with specific calculations in them that are working on my PC but differently on theirs.

25 years in IT and I have never seen this type of behavior.

Is it PC versions? Win 10 vs Win 11 ? I am using the latest version of Acrobat Pro 32bit

Can anyone out there help?

Hi @Professor Matt ,

Are you able to confirm what program are the other users employing to view the same PDF on their PC's?

Is it a web browser? or a PDF viewer other than Acrobat Pro DC or Adobe Reader DC?

Bot of you are right, and a million thanx to you.

It is the Firefox web plugin that is giving incorrect information. I am waiting for the user to call me to verify that on his PC.

Fully verified that the Firefox PDF plugin has major issues and should not be trusted to use with fillable forms containing javascript for calculations. I was able to reproduce the problems on multiple PC's including the users. The problems differed between PC's (pictures not working - calculations not working, etc), but all had issues rendering the fillable PDF form unusable.

Thank you all for your "superfast" help. Greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know the best way to report this to Firefox, and give them a chance to fix it?

The main question is what application are the other people using to view the file? My guess is it's some sub-par browser plugin, or third-party PDF viewer like Apple Preview...

Excellent question, I think it is a browser plugin, but let me find out.
