PDF has Adobe Sign text tag instead of signature box

I am trying to sign a contract through e-Sign by Adobe Sign. When I opened the pdf the text was fine except instead of boxes for me to add my signature, I had this:

{{Sig_es_:signer:signature}} {{transstamp2_es_:transactionid}}

I have the most recent version of Acrobat Reader. I'm using the most recent version of Chrome on Monterey 12.0.1. I've already tried clearing browsing history, cookies, cached images, and my dowload history. I tried it in incognito, and I tried on someone else's Windows 10 system.

There is also a button with this document that should open the e-Sign option, but just gives me a blank pop-up with a "close" button in the bottom left. Is this a problem for me to fix, or is this an error on the part of the person who sent it?
