Question

PDF merge "shortcut" suddenly not working in Acrobat

I was merging a bunch of letters.  I did one batch in which when I select "insert file" I could then just type the first letter of the file I wanted to add and the desktop listing window would drop me down to all files starting with that letter.  When I started a second batch of letters, suddenly instead of dropping me into the files on my desktop, it moved me up a navigation level to the user level instead of down into the files on my desktop.

Hi there,

I hope you're doing well, and thank you for reaching out.

To better understand the issue you're experiencing, could you please share a short video recording of the workflow or steps you're taking when the issue occurs? This will help us provide more accurate assistance.

Additionally, could you let us know the version of your operating system and Adobe Acrobat DC? To find the version of Acrobat DC, go to Help > About Acrobat and ensure you have the latest version, 24.02.20933, installed. If not, you can update it by going to Help > Check for updates. After updating, please reboot your computer.

For Windows users, you might also want to try repairing the installation from the Help menu to see if that resolves the issue.

Another helpful step is resetting the Acrobat preferences. You can follow the instructions provided in this link: How to reset Acrobat preference settings to default.

Please give these steps a try and let us know how it goes. We're here to help!

Regards,

Amal
