PDF NOT OPENING ON DESKTOP

Question

I get many PDF attachments for translations.  Previously, I could move the PDF to my MAC Desktop and open it to be able to work, but lately, when I move it to the Desktop, it appears as a PREVIEW ATTACHMENT with an @ HTTP and I can't open it, so I have to revert to opening the attachment in the email.  How can I get the full view of the attachment on my Desktop?  Thanks.

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.
