PDF opens then displays a blank screen in New Acrobat

PDFs open, then turn blank in Acrobat. Disabling New Acrobat helps temporarily, but it re-enables itself. The issue affects all laptops. Adobe, graphics drivers and firmware are up to date.

    Hi Teeto7,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue.

If PDFs initially open and then turn completely blank in the new Acrobat experience, while the classic experience works correctly, the problem is often related to rendering, GPU acceleration, or profile corruption.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Disable Online Storage:

    • Open Acrobat, go to Menu > Preferences > General

    • Uncheck Show online storage when opening files and Show online storage when saving files.

    • Click on the OK button at the bottom of the preferences window to save the changes and relaunch the application.

    1. Turn off Protected Mode temporarily(only for testing purposes). If it resolves the issue, re-enable the setting:

    • Go to Menu > Preferences > Security (Enhanced),

    • Uncheck the "Enable Protected Mode at startup" option.

    • Click on the OK button at the bottom of the preferences window to save the changes and relaunch the application.

    1. Try toggling with the rendering options in preferences:

    • Open Acrobat.

    • Go to Menu > Preferences > Page Display.

    • Try enabling or disabling the options under Rendering.

    1. Create a Test User Profile: Since the issue is occurring on multiple laptops, check whether it happens under a newly created Windows user profile. This can help determine whether the issue is related to user-specific settings.

    1. Try reinstalling the application using the steps suggested below:

    • Uninstall the application and run the cleaner tool from the following link: Acrobat Cleaner tool.

    • Reboot the machine.

    • Install Adobe Acrobat from the following page: Install Acrobat.

If you continue experiencing the same behaviour, please collect logs using the Adobe Acrobat Diagnostics tool. Once the logs are collected, share the log ID with us.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi

I have a VIP who is currently facing an issue with Adobe. Anytime she opens a PDF file, the document opens but immediately changes to a blank display. She has been having this issue, and the only workaround is to disable New Acrobat; however, after a few hours, it reverts to New Acrobat, and the issue persists again. Adobe has been updated, and the challenge is that she is facing this across all her work laptops, including the new one assigned to her over the last two weeks. It worked on the new laptop until yesterday, and it has happened repeatedly since then. The laptop's graphics adapter and all firmware have been updated. Going through the route of disabling the new Acrobat can be frustrating, but the annoying part is that it didn’t fix the issue.
