    Hello nancyl,

Were you able to get support from the vendor and resolve your issue?

For the purpose of this reply I will assume that you are using a Windows operating system in the computer that this problem appeared. I also forgot to recommend or ask if this is the first time that this message appeared or did it happened before?

I was thinking of a few ideas to help with your case:

    1) If you are using Windows operating system and MS Office applications --- from what I've read seems like the problem is related to parsing of an  XML file

----> see troubleshooting recommendation in Microsoft support: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/238833/prb-xml-parser-invalid-character-was-found-in-text-content

    2) Download and install the latest .Net framework version  from:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4054531/microsoft-net-framework-4-7-2-web-installer-for-windows

    3) If you know which XML file produced the error when it was parsed, and you know how to edit and analyze this type of files, you may need Notepad or a similar text editor to view the file and find the offending line there and remove or edit.  From the link below " You need to find out how the producer of that document encoded the document. "

    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c0dca973-ebb9-4259-a8ef-310195c4c376/an-invalid-character-was-found-in-text-content-error-processing-resource-xml-file?forum=xmlandnetfx

    4) Download and install the 7 day free trial of Adobe Acrobat from here : https://acrobat.adobe.com/us/en/free-trial-download.html and try to open or execute the same document that you were using with PDF Pro 10 8 Creator .

If the same problem persists when using Adobe Acrobat , then it is likely that the problem is not dependent and exclusively related to the handling or ownership of a PDF  program; it could be resolved by following the suggestions in the links above.

As you may already know that is not an Adobe product and you may have to contact PDF Pro 10 8 Creator support through their web site. The only contact support information there is a link to an email address.

You might also want to collect more information about the shutdown procedure and if it is a macOS issue or a Microsoft Windows operating system post the same question throught their user support website.
