I had a coworker chage her default PDF viewer from Adobe to Chrome.  Said coworker calle dme and asked why she can't open pdf files anymore.  Well she was trying to open a DXF file that has a PDF icon next to it.  I removed Adobe and the file went back to a blank icon (she does not have a dxf viewer).  Reinstalled Adobe reader and it changed the dxf files back to the pdf icon.   I set adobe as the default viewer, i can't change the dxf one becasue she does not have a program that can view dxf.

Please help

Hi @Ronald31461160okbi

The description above clearly shows you have set up Adobe Acrobat/Reader as the default viewer to open, not just the .pdf file. A default viewer for all the files, including .dfx.

To open a .dfx file, you must first have the supporting software. Else, what best you can do is,

Right-click on the .dfx file>Open with>Choose another program> Select the app you want this file to open with> Select the dialog box "Always use this app to open .dfx file">OK.

Your default .dfx viewer will be changed.

Thanks,

Akanchha
