PDF's Saving to the desktop

Every Pdf I open saves a copy to the desktop automatically whether it's from an email or online.

Is there a setting to stop this function my desktop is overflowing.  I work on a mac, Adobe DC and I use Firefox browser.

I think you need to configure that setting at the browser level. Either configure Firefox to download PDF files automatically to another folder in a different directory, or have it open directly in the web browser to give you the option to manually save it later.
