PDFs are slow to load when scrolling. Is there a way to fix this?

When I create pdfs from scanning, I need to quickly review them to ensure what I scanned was copied before I throw away the paper copies. Is there a way to tune Adobe Acrobat to apply more memory when scrolling?

 

I have HP Z8 with 1TB of RAM but I want to see how to give that memory to creative cloud products.

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described the PDFs are slow to load when scrolling

 

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check

 

If the file is stored on a shared network/drive, please download it and save to your computer locally and check if that helps.

 

What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 21.01.20155 Go to Help > Check for Updates and reboot the computer once.

 

Also please go to Edit (Windows), Adobe Acrobat (Mac) > Preferences > Page Display > Under rendering Uncheck 'Use Page Cache' > Click OK

Hi Amal,

 

Let me give more details. I was in a hurry when I did this yesterday.

 

I scan regularly 50-100 page pdfs. I used to scan larger but they are too hard to manipulate when they get over a 1000 pages. 

 

I have learned that pdfs must be local to work best. I store them on usb or cloud storage but when editing I pull them locally.

 

My pdf version is 21.01.20150. I'm prompted to update now. Edit: I'm at 21.01.20155 now. Let me verify page cache comment and I'll reboot and try again.

 

Just FYI, If I'm on HP, then I'm Windows.

 

I unchecked the "Use Page Cache" Setting.

The "Uncheck Page Cache" helped for files under 50 pages/150 mb. The pages load faster and I can scroll through them. I'll post back on large files later today.
